The Summer Reading Challenge

Dive into our summer reading challenge from 1 December to
31 January.

Preschool aged - Grab a 'Read me a story' card from the library.
Colour a star for each book you read together. When all 25 stars are coloured bring your card to the library to receive your free book.

Primary aged - Grab your challenge booklet from the library.
Read 12 books, write down the title and author inside your booklet. Visit Gore or Mataura Library two or more times and report about your reading. When you have completed your Challenge booklet bring it to the library to choose your free book.

Help your favourite team top the leaderboard and win some amazing prizes!

Primary and intermediate-aged children are able to register for free and choose their local cricket team to 'play' for.

Term time sessions - for babies and preschool children

Wriggle and Rhyme

These 30 minute sessions are for parents and caregivers with babies under two and will help stimulate your baby's brain and body. Movement helps children to develop the skills they require later in life for reading and writing.

Held Wednesdays 10.00am at Gore Library.

Update: Please note these sessions are currently being held at the Gore Elderly Citizens Centre next to the James Cumming Wing.

Wriggle and Rhyme will start again on Wednesday 5 February 2020


Toddler time

Toddler Time 

Join us for stories, rhymes and an activity. Suitable for 3-4 year olds but younger children are welcome. Approximately one hour in length.

Held Tuesday 10.30am at Gore Library and Friday 10.30am at Mataura Library.
