Summer Reading Challenge

Join in our summer reading challenge from 1 December to 31 January.

Preschool aged - Pick up a 'Read me a story' card from the library.
Colour a star for each book you read together. 
When all 25 stars are coloured bring your card to the library to receive your free book.

Primary aged - Pick up your challenge booklet from the library.
Read 12 books, write down the title and author inside your booklet.
Visit Gore or Mataura Library two or more times and report about your reading. When you have completed your Challenge booklet bring it to the library to choose your free book.

 

SPCA reading challenge 2020

SPCA Reading Challenge

The SPCA Reading Challenge is an interactive reading challenge found here.

The challenge is open to children aged five and up. Register for free and choose an animal team to ‘play’ for. Players log the books they read over the summer, along with a star rating and short review. A leader board keeps track of the teams as they move up and down the rankings accordingly.

Runs until January 22 2021

Babytime

An interactive session of stories and songs. Suitable for babies and children under two years old.

Held Wednesdays 10.00am at Gore Library.

Update: Please note these sessions are currently being held at the Gore Elderly Citizens Centre next to the James Cumming Wing.

Join us for stories, songs, rhymes and crafts. Suitable for 2-5 year olds but older children are very welcome to join us.  

Tuesday 10.30am at Gore Library

Hell Reading Challenge

The Hell Reading Challenge is back for 2020.

Read 7 books and get a free 333 kids pizza from Hell Pizza.

Ask for your pizza wheel and more information at Gore or Mataura Libraries.

Open to students in Year 1-8.
