Gore and Mataura libraries have APNK internet computers. APNK stands for Aotearoa Peoples Network Kaharoa, a nation-wide government-funded free internet service.
As well as the standard free programmes these computers have a number of subscription-only websites and databases. Gore Library also has two Ancestry.com dedicated computers.
Headsets are available to use with the library computers - please ask a librarian.
There is a time limit of 30 minutes per person per day on the computers if others are waiting. You are welcome to use the computer for longer otherwise, however, children and teens (under 18) may use the computers for a maximum of two hours per day, reduced to one hour as advised by library staff.
Free Wi-Fi is available in the libraries during opening hours and outside the library 24/7. With the wireless network enabled, your device will detect the library's wireless network. You will be directed to the APNK welcome page, where you should accept the terms and conditions to continue.
Black and white printing is available directly from the internet computers. If you want to print in colour please bring a flash drive to save your file. The flash drive can then be used in the colour printer. Ask a librarian for help with this. Printing charges apply.
