How to join

Join the library

Membership is free for residents of the Gore District and the Otago/Southland region - Invercargill, Southland, Clutha, Queenstown/Lakes, Central Otago, Dunedin and Waitaki.

Bring personal identification to the library and complete a registration form (or bring a completed form with you).

If you are under 18, an adult who will be your guarantor will need to come with you, bringing their library card or identification and address verification.

You may apply for provisional membership by emailing gorelibraries@goredc.govt.nz with your name, address and telephone number. Your membership will be completed when you next visit the library, at which time you will be asked to complete a membership form, show identification, and provide an alternative contact.

Membership categories

Resident

For people living permanently in the Gore District or the Otago/Southland region, or paying property rates to the Gore District Council. Download an adult membership form, or child membership form.

Visitor (non-resident)

For people staying in the District for three or more months. There is a borrowing limit of three items at a time. Download a temporary membership form.

Teacher

For teachers currently working in the Gore District, download a teachers membership form.



Bring your completed form to the library along with personal identification and address verification.
