Yes. Membership is free for residents of the Gore District and the Otago/Southland region - Invercargill, Southland, Clutha, Queenstown/Lakes, Central Otago, Dunedin and Waitaki.

You can use your library card at Gore and Mataura Libraries.

You have several options available:

1. Log into your account using your library card and password (default password is l1brary or l1brary1 unless you have changed it)

Most items are free to borrow however, there are charges on adult audiobooks and DVDs. Items that cost to borrow are clearly labelled. If you are not sure please ask the staff.

Yes, please bring your library card with you. If you don’t have your card please bring your ID. We recommend that you do not share your library card as you are responsible for all items borrowed and any fees incurred.

Please let us know as soon as possible if your card has been lost or stolen. You can purchase a new card for $2.00.

An item cannot be renewed if there is a reserve on it, if your membership needs to be updated, or if the item has already been renewed twice.

Yes, free WiFi is available. You can use our computers or your own device to access the internet. You can also scan and print. Printing charges apply.

Yes. We can try to source it from another library in New Zealand. There is a postage fee for each item and sometimes we are charged for the title, so make sure to ask what the cost is.
